The Sun City Grand in Surprise, Arizona, encompasses 63 neighborhoods across approximately 4,000 acres. Homes cover a wide range of styles and sizes to accommodate the needs of nearly anyone looking to relocate in the sun-drenched climate of Arizona. It is an “active adult” community, which means that certain age restrictions apply to its residents. For example, no one under the age of 19 can live within the community. Desert Springs Golf Course was the first to be built, Granite Falls South and North courses were built next, and Cimarron Golf Course was built in 2002. Cimarron is considered by many golfers as the most challenging of the four courses.

 

Two fitness facilities are available to residents and they are well-equipped. The Cimarron Fitness Center has 6,300 square feet for fitness activities and an aerobics room. An outdoor leisure/lap pool and outdoor spa are available, as are sauna rooms for men and women. Lap lanes of the pool measure 75 feet, with 72 lengths equaling one mile. The Adobe Fitness Center has a 6,000-square-foot fitness room, an aerobics room, indoor pool and plenty of space for exercise. Children are allowed here at certain times during the days, including at an outdoor leisure pool. Adobe also has an indoor walking track. As well, there are five community pools, a softball field, and two restaurants among the neighborhoods.

 

The homes in Sun City Grand are all one-story and devoted to Southwest style. Neighborhoods can be inclusive of anywhere from 50 to 300 homes. Square footage starts with a villa at 1,096 square feet and can range all the way up to what is known as “an entertainer’s estate” at 3,388 square feet. They were designed to be welcoming and attractive, and as easy to maintain as possible.
